85000 Bank Jobs in 3 years & Common Exam: Govt

This could be good news to those eyeing for banking jobs in India as plans of recruiting 85000 banking staff over the next 3 years, has been announced.This forecast was shared by the Finance ministry in an event held recently.

Recruitments in public sector banks has been in the rise for the past few years, considering the number of retirements & opening of new branches.This trend is expected to continue for the next 3 years.At the Economic Editors' Conference, Govt.of India has mentioned that the public sector banks would recruit 51000 clerks & 34000 officers between 2010-2013

Common Test: The government has also decided to conduct common recruitment exam for vacancies in public banks through Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).Many public sector banks are currently utilizing the services of IBPS for organizing & conducting the recruitment tests.

We receive many emails asking, “ Will such huge recruitments currently happening in banks continue next year ”.With the government informing about 85000 bank jobs in the next 3 years – your doubts would have been answered now.

Regarding the common test for public banks, there are no details about the method, pattern & how frequently would this exam be conducted.But sooner or later, expect some changes in the selection process for bank jobs in India.
